THE SHOPS @ 5807

The Shops at 5807, located in Richmond, Virginia, is an eclectic small-mall.  The Shops are home to about 25 different vendors who each sell their own unique goods.  A one-stop shop for home decor, clothing, jewelry, stationary, and accessories galore,  it is Richmond’s go-to spot for finding the perfect gift for any occasion or something special for yourself.  

Conceived in 2006 by sisters Anne Brasfield and Leigh Johnson, The Shops at 5807 has recently entered a new chapter.  In November 2017, with the impending holiday season, Anne and Leigh were behind the register discussing the need for more help.  A shopper overheard and cheerfully volunteered, saying, “I wanna work here!” The very next day, Kate Thomas showed up promptly to work.  Anne and Leigh were quickly taken by Kate’s daily enthusiasm, work ethic, and customer service. By early 2019, Leigh was looking to retire to the mountains, and Anne felt the time was right for The Shops to be run by “some new blood.”  The sisters looked to Kate as a potential torch bearer and were thrilled when she expressed an interest in taking over.  It was a perfect fit! In May 2019, Kate officially took ownership of The Shops at 5807.

Kate Thomas is a native Richmonder, mother of two, and natural fashion fixer.  The Shops of 5807 was the perfect storm for her, merging her love of fashion with her entrepreneurial spirit and the gift of gab. And so, under Kate’s effervescent leadership, The Shops of 5807 continue soaring to new heights.
